MY MARTIAL ARTS JOURNEY

DEDICATED TO TRAINING.COMMITTED TO MY STUDENTS.

As a Senior Second Degree Black Belt with a little over seven years of training and three years of teaching experience, I bring a love of martial arts and a commitment to improvement into every class. I enjoy challenging myself, and I love helping students discover the confidence that comes from working toward something and seeing their effort pay off.

My instructors helped me experience that growth firsthand. I always loved martial arts, and taking on leadership responsibilities gave me a new way to connect with others. Teaching showed me how much an instructor’s encouragement can matter, both in learning a skill and in helping a student believe they have something to offer.

That experience shapes the way I teach today. I want students to understand what they are working on, feel supported as they practice, and recognize their progress. Whether we are building a new skill or working through a challenge, my goal is to help them leave class with something they feel proud of and a reason to keep going.

MY FAVORITE PART OF TEACHING

NEW SKILLS.GROWING CONFIDENCE.

Clear instruction, meaningful practice, and encouragement give students something they can build on.

Weapons and stick sparring are my favorite areas to teach. I love helping students connect the details of a movement with how and when to use it. My own training keeps me focused on those details, so I can help students break a skill into manageable steps and bring those pieces together with practice.

Working with kids makes that process especially rewarding. I enjoy seeing a student understand a correction, try it again, and feel the difference. I want class to be fun and purposeful, with clear expectations and encouragement that helps students stay engaged when something takes more effort.

I also remember being the quieter student who did not always reach out first. That helps me appreciate the progress that may be less obvious: joining in, asking a question, or feeling ready to help a classmate. I want to recognize those steps alongside the physical skills, because both are part of building confidence.

CONTINUING TO GROW

PURPOSE IN MY PRACTICE.PROGRESS FOR MY STUDENTS.

I love training and competing because there is always another detail to improve or a new goal to work toward. Preparing for competition asks me to practice consistently, pay attention to feedback, and keep working when a skill does not come together right away. Those are the same habits I encourage in my students.

Continuing my own training keeps me connected to the learning process. I understand the concentration it takes to make a correction and the satisfaction of finally getting it right. I bring that perspective into my teaching, helping students focus on their next step while showing them that improvement is something we keep working toward at every rank.

LEADING BY EXAMPLE

Practicing what I teach.

When I ask students to stay focused, accept a correction, or give something another try, I am asking them to practice habits I work on myself. Being a Black Belt means continuing to put those lessons into action. I want my students to see that commitment in how I train and how I support them.

LOOKING AHEAD

A lifelong commitment to martial arts.

My goal is to own a martial arts school one day and create the kind of lasting impact my instructors have made on me. That goal gives my future a clear direction. Every class I teach is an opportunity to invest in my students and in the work I want to dedicate my life to.

I LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU

ROOM TO GROW.GUIDANCE ALONG THE WAY.

Whether your child is excited to jump in or needs time to feel comfortable, I look forward to helping them find their footing. Through clear guidance, encouragement, and practice with a purpose, I want to help them build skills, enjoy learning, and recognize just how much they can accomplish.
