MY MARTIAL ARTS JOURNEY

LESSONS ON THE MAT.STRENGTH FOR EVERYDAY LIFE.

As a Fourth Degree Black Belt, I love both the physical challenge of martial arts and the lessons that stay with us after class. Teaching and training with weapons are two of my favorite parts, but what makes martial arts especially meaningful to me is how much it can help us in everyday life.

The focus, patience, and discipline we practice on the mat have a place at work and in our personal lives, too. I continue to discover new ways to use those lessons as I take on responsibilities and work through challenges of my own.

As an instructor, I want to help students make those connections for themselves. My goal is to be a guide as they grow into better martial artists and people, giving them encouragement and something meaningful to take away from each class.

MY FAVORITE PART OF TEACHING

A CONVERSATION.A CHANCE TO GROW.

The lessons we talk about together can matter long after class ends.

I love mat chats. They give us time to pause and talk about the ideas behind our training: how we treat people, approach a challenge, and keep trying when something feels difficult. Those conversations help connect the work we do in class with the choices we make outside the Studio.

Being a guide for students is what I enjoy most about teaching. I want to help them understand what they are learning and why it matters, so they can begin to put those lessons into practice in their own way.

Becoming a better martial artist and becoming a better person go together for me. Helping students work toward both is a responsibility I care about.

CONTINUING TO GROW

NEW RESPONSIBILITIES.FAMILIAR LESSONS.

As a young adult, I am learning about the challenges and responsibilities that come with adulthood. Martial arts has given me lessons I can return to as I navigate that experience. I have used my training to manage my own stress and anxiety, become a better employee, and keep working on myself.

I am still learning how to put those habits into practice in new situations. For me, continuing to grow means paying attention to what I can improve and making an effort to act on it. That work continues at every rank.

A FAVORITE PART OF TRAINING

Working with weapons.

I love teaching and training with weapons. It is an area of martial arts I enjoy returning to, with opportunities to keep practicing, refining my skills, and bringing that enthusiasm into my teaching.

BEYOND THE STUDIO

Putting training into practice.

What I love about martial arts is how useful its lessons can be in work and personal life. Applying what I learn gives my training meaning beyond the physical skills and reminds me why I keep coming back.

I LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU

SOMETHING NEW TO LEARN.SOMEONE TO GUIDE YOU.

I look forward to helping your child discover what martial arts can mean for them. Together, we can work on new skills, talk through challenges, and build habits they can use on the mat and in everyday life.
