WHAT WE’RE WORKING ON.

Kicks

Front kicks 1-3

Practice the first three front-kick variations exactly as taught. Set your feet before each kick and finish with balance.

Form

Ki Bon

Work through your basic form in small pieces. Remember the order before adding speed.

Stick combination

Three count, one side

Learn the three-count pattern on one side. Aim for a steady rhythm and a clear start and finish.

Self-defense

Wrist release, backfist, ridge hand

Use the other hand as taught, step back, and release toward the thumb side. Add the backfist and ridge-hand finish shown in class.

BEYOND THE BELT · THIS CYCLE’S LIFE SKILL

Stop. Think. Choose.

We are learning to get ready before a move and pause before answering. A small pause helps us use a calm voice, even when something feels frustrating.

AT HOME, TRY SAYING

“What is one good choice you can make before you start?”

NOTICE THE LITTLE WINS

Celebrate remembering a direction, setting feet carefully, or trying a more respectful response.

A LITTLE PRACTICE AT HOME.

Choose three practice days each week, about five minutes each. Repeat A, B and C to include kicks, your form, stick counts, self-defense and Beyond the Belt. A grown-up can read and cheer you on as you build your home-practice habit.

  1. A · KICKS + FORMSlowly review the front kicks 1-3 you have learned. Work on a small part of Ki Bon, setting your feet before each move.
  2. B · STICK COUNTS + SELF-DEFENSESay the three counts and trace your one-side stick pattern with open hands to help your body remember the moves. For self-defense review, say and picture your wrist release, backfist and ridge-hand steps in order.
  3. C · REVIEW + BEYOND THE BELTRepeat a few kicks and your Ki Bon section. Practice Stop. Think. Choose. during one everyday moment, and share the good choice you made.

Use only movements your instructor has assigned for home. Keep practice gentle, with clear space and the supervision they recommend. If a solo version has not been taught, count, name, or picture the steps and bring your question to class. Leave sticks, targets, partner grabs, contact, locks, chokes, jumping, and spinning for supervised class. Never use a household object in place of training equipment.

YOUR NEXT STEP.

Ask your instructor which skills are your priority right now and what readiness looks like for your next milestone. We’ll help you understand the expectations and recognize the progress you’re making.
